FAQ

Why buy from analogia.pl?

1) We are one of Europe’s longest-running vintage gear shops. With satisfied clients across nearly every European country—and far beyond—our reputation is built on a foundation of customer satisfaction and safety. That’s what we’re known for.

2) To ensure that words like “satisfaction” and “safety” aren’t just empty promises, let us remind you that all instruments we sell come with a warranty. We also offer a money-back guarantee if you feel the condition of an instrument was misrepresented. We never leave our clients to deal with problems alone—whatever the issue, we’re here to help resolve it.

3) We genuinely love what we do. Our passion for analogue synthesizers isn’t random—this isn’t something we chose over gardening, banking, or medicine. I, Maciek Polak, began exploring analogue gear when I was 17, nearly 30 years ago. Since then, it's remained a central part of my life. I’ve written articles, lectured on analogue synthesis, and remain an active musician. Running analogia.pl—together with your support as clients—allows me to continue doing what I love.

4) While I personally oversee the business and am writing these words, analogia.pl is not a one-man operation. We have a dedicated team, as well as many trusted colleagues and suppliers who are experts in their own fields. So when you buy from analogia.pl, you’re not only supporting a legitimate business—you’re helping a whole network of professionals earn a living doing what they care about. And we work hard to keep you happy.

VAT

VAT is a tax—and a tricky one at that. We’re required to charge it and then hand it over to the government. The government loves VAT, and failing to pay it back the following month is a criminal offence.

If you're a private individual (i.e. not a business) located in the European Union, then yes—you’ll need to pay 23% Polish VAT on top of the instrument’s price. If you run a company and have a valid EU VAT number, we can apply a 0% VAT rate under the intra-community supply rule.

In other words:

If you're in the EU and know what an "EU VAT number" is, you most likely do not have to pay VAT (or more precisely, you’ll be charged 0%).

If you’ve never heard of it, chances are you do have to pay VAT.

If you're outside the European Union—including the USA, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Norway, and other non-EU countries—you do not have to pay VAT. However, the goods must be officially cleared through customs. This can be handled either by a customs agency or by the carrier (DHL, UPS, FedEx), depending on the destination. In most cases, you’ll be responsible for any import duties or fees. Please check with your local customs office, as these charges vary by country—and even by state, in the case of the USA.

Payments

Instruments will be shipped only after payment has been received—either to one of our accounts (we accept EUR, USD, GBP, and JPY) or in cash. In certain cases, we may arrange personal delivery of the instrument. We also want to emphasize that it's always possible to test the gear in person before purchasing.

There are no exceptions to this rule: payment must be made in advance. We do not ship COD (cash on delivery).

We generally do not accept PayPal. Their transfer fees are extremely high compared to standard wire transfers, and they do not allow us to withdraw foreign currency (i.e., the money you send), instead forcing conversion at their unfavorable exchange rates. In short, getting charged twice is two times too many. On rare occasions, we may make an exception—but please contact us in advance.

Clients who don’t have a bank account for international transfers often use Wise.com, which tends to offer competitive rates.

Shipping

We are always open to our clients' suggestions. However, most parcels we ship within the EU are dispatched via DPD (road freight) or UPS (road freight and express air). For international shipments, UPS Express typically offers the best rates for regular-sized synthesizers. For oversized instruments (including pallets), DHL often provides the most reasonable pricing.

All parcels are insured for their full value. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution—we’re happy to recommend the safest or most cost-effective shipping method based on your needs. In some cases, EMS postal courier offers the best price.

There is no risk when buying from analogia.pl. In the very rare event of a shipping issue, we’ve got you covered—you won’t be left on your own. We love analog gear, we respect our clients, and we care. Just ask around.

Warranty and money back guarantee

All instruments are sold with a 12-month warranty. In practice, however, this period is often extended—we can’t imagine leaving a client with a partially malfunctioning device. That’s why we handle each case individually and typically offer significantly reduced service fees if an instrument requires attention more than a year after purchase.

Additionally, you're welcome to return the instrument for a full refund immediately after purchase if you believe its condition was misrepresented.
