Picture is for reference only but yes indeed, it it’s the mighty CS-70M with Kenton MIDI. Often overshadowed by the CS-50/60/80s, it’s a totally uniqe sounding beast and few other polysinths can compete with it. It’s neither brassy like Oberheims, or techno-electronic like Rolands. It’s also nothing like teh SCI Porphets, too. Each time I get to play it, I can’t find better words to describe it as “lyrical” or “nostalgic”. Plus it has an option no other polysynths apart from Yamaha offer: sine wave added at VCA stage. And believe me, if there were specific sines Aphex surfed on, they could be from the 70M. It’s that round and beautiful.

It is currently being fully and painstakingly restored by our partner Werkstatt Matlak in Grassau (1 hour drive from Munich) and personal pickup will be of course possible. Otherwise we ship worldwide.
